Join us for a reading and book discussion with Margaree Little, author of Rest (Four Way, $15.95).
In her powerful debut, award-winning writer Margaree Little examines the human cost of crossing the border. Part noir mystery, part documentary, and part elegy, Rest is a stunning collection of poems inspired by the author’s discovery of human remains on the Arizona-Mexico border. Returning often to the unidentified man, and many others who have faced similar fates along the border, Little commemorates an imagined, unknown life and invites readers to consider the terrible human cost of undocumented migrancy, and the moral cost of forgetting.
Margaree Little is the recipient of a 2013 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award. Her poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, New England Review, The Missouri Review, and The Southern Review.
