Join us to hear Juliet Grames, author of The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna (Ecco, $27.99).
This remarkable novel follows Stella Fortuna and her estranged sister, Tina, from a pernicious childhood in Italy into tumultuous adulthood in America, documenting the sisters’ lifelong struggle for independence and many harrowing encounters with death along the way. Told by a family member in present-day Connecticut, The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna is a remarkable tale that fearlessly confronts the violence and heartbreak that can become entangled within family relationships— and the love that can still be found even in the darkest of times.
