Anna K is a fascinating, modern take on Tolstoj's classic novel Anna Karenina. In this well-written novel Lee takes all the drama, the emotions and the social commentary from 19th century Russia to the New York of today. This setting adds even more layers to the story and makes it easily relatable for all readers.
It's a great read for anyone who loves Anna Karenina or likes to get to know her story through a modern lens.

16 stories, 16 different kinds of love, loss, longing, and losing your heart and mind in Williams' magnificent prose and plots. This read was a pure rollercoaster of emotions for me and I am still stunned by the balance of this collection.

This book glows with the incredible strength and beautiful tenderness of all the women the story includes. Colombani creates a tale that shows how hardships are lightened by the female community and determination to heal and move forward.
I read this book two years ago and I am still amazed by the lasting impact it has on my view of the indestructible power of women.

This is one of my favorite children's books ever! It has beautiful illustrations, a lovely main character who is so much more than just the littlest yak of the herd, and a story that makes me feel all giddy, teary eyed and happy.
(hopeful that every child will realize the bigness they have in them)

Let me be honest with you - I don't like cooking. Baking, on the other hand, is one of my favorite things to do! Unfortunately, it seems to be impossible to live off of just cake so when I discovered this book I was thrilled! It is a whole treasure chest of varied, detailed and easy to follow recipes that allow me to use my oven, clean up my kitchen mess and enjoy a delicious meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This is one of my favorite novels by my favorite classic author. It is lighthearted, insightful, and very relatable for any book-lover and daydreamer who has ever confused reality with their latest read.
The story follows a young heroine who goes to dazzling balls, meets the most charming hero Austen has ever created, has emotional but comic misunderstandings, and visits spooky castles - what's not to love?

It is a truth universally acknowledged that this brilliant novel is not just a romantic love story but also a witty, smart, and snarky commentary on social norms and human behavior. Jane Austen's most famous novel is a timeless classic that will make you laugh out loud, fall in love with the characters and give you a new appreciation for the English language.
Take a peek at the first chapter - you will not be disappointed!

Gorgeous dresses, a forbidden friendship, secret outings, a turn of the century department store in Paris, and a fairy tale like setting = a marvelous story!
This is a fast, emotional and simply beautiful read that still makes me smile (and think about the characters, hoping they are doing well.)

An adorable, funny, silly, beautiful, and overall great book for anyone who ever wondered what lemmings are and why they jump off cliffs.

This book is the first by Claire Keegan that I've ever read and I am blown away by the captivating clarity of the language that immensely amplified the power and depth of the story.
On the one hand, I was shocked by the terrible historical issues Keegan addresses in her novella but on the other hand I felt surprisingly uplifted by the hopeful and soothing warmth, compassion, and pure humanity that Keegan created in her story of a family's Christmas celebration.
It is an emotionally challenging read but very much worth the heartache because it shows how strong we can be as humans and how important it is to follow our intuition to do good.
I look forward to reading Keegan's next book!

This is an impressive book! The beautiful illustrations speak for themselves and serve as an excellent starting point for a conversation about war; the current war in Ukraine and what war does to any people all over the world.
What I've found most important about this book are the suggestions that are offered in the back, for how to read a wordless book and how to talk about war with children.

A beautiful and heartwarming book about love and friendship over long distances. Badger and Bear show us how great it can be to make new friends and share stories with each other.

Every time I pick up a new book by Jane Gardam I am blown away by her brilliance! Her writing is smart, witty, wise, insightful, and she is able to give every character of hers their very own voice. Gardam writes about people of all ages that I can relate to in some way or other and who stay with me long after I finished reading the book, like old friends.

This is the most charmingly illustrated book about finding beauty and light in your own home and with your loved ones. The text is great for reading out loud together.

This is a fantastic book that I could not put down! I was amazed and fascinated by what I learned about the 28 different animals and their lives introduced here. The beautiful illustrations make this the perfect book for any young and old reader who cares about our planet and who we share it with!

The more I think of this story, the more things I find to be fascinated about!
Keegan uses the most minimalist style in writing I have encountered so far to express the most intense and deeply felt emotions about family, loving and grieving, closeness and estrangement, and the turbulence of growing up.
