In this moving collection of thought-provoking essays infused with unique wisdom and deep humor, actress Gabrielle Union fearlessly shares astonishingly personal and true stories about color, gender, feminism and fame. Union tackles a range of experiences, bravely laying bare a complex and courageous life of self-doubt and self-discovery with incredible poise and brutal honesty. Beginning with her childhood in a predominantly white Californian suburb, Union takes us through the mishaps and triumphs of a bright career, from finding success in Hollywood to becoming an advocate for victims of sexual abuse.

Staff Pick
"This book is both funny and intense. In tackling social and personal issues, Gabrielle Union is blunt and biting. I was impressed with her ability to shed light on darkness." -Kate Stern, Antigone bookseller
